Charlene S. Mosher (Delany)
Age 63, of Breesport, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer. Charlene was born in Elmira NY, a daughter of the late Donald J. and Eleanor (Miller) Mosher. She was also predeceased by a brother Gary Mosher and sisters, Candice "Candy" Boyles and Machell Bailey. Charlene is survived by her husband of 43 years Daniel E. Delany; sons and daughter-in-law, Daniel E. Delany of Charleston SC, Ryan J. and Katie Delany of Missoula MT; daughter and son-in-law, Kerri L. and Matthew Lunger of Horseheads; grandchildren, Alivia, Brady and Caitlyn Lunger and a fourth grandchild due in March; sisters, Donna Cicconi of Mesa AZ and Eleanor "Cookie" Mosher and her wife Deb Myers-Mosher of Endicott NY; brother and sister-in-law David and Beth Mosher of Horseheads; sisters-in-law Donna Dekay of Las Vegas NV and Kathleen Clark of Seattle WA; brother-in-law Paul Bailey of Horseheads; step mother Joan Mosher of Horseheads; several nieces and nephews. Charlene was a 1972 graduate of Southside High School. She had worked at Chemung County Vital Records from 1972 to 1975. After the birth of her first child Charlene left the workforce to become a stay at home mother. After raising her three children she went back to work at BOCES as a teaching aide from 1986 to 2000. Charlene was an avid gardener, loved to shop and enjoyed going to flea markets. She was an exceptional wife, a devoted mother and a loving Nana to her grandchildren - her family was everything and all that mattered. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren "Beans," "Mac" and "Caitie Pants" and being a guardian angel to her husband. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water Street, Elmira, on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held there Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church at 12:30 p.m. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery, Horseheads. Those wishing may make a donation in memory of Charlene to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier, 388 Upper Oakwood Ave, Elmira NY 14903.
