Gayle (Hurd) Carpenter age 67 of Elmira, NY passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday June 15, 2022. Gayle was born September 14, 1954 in Elmira , NY the daughter of the late Glenn and Rose Marie Adams Hurd. She was also pre-deceased by her husband Merle Carpenter and her grandson Antonio Powell. Gayle leaves behind her three daughters and a step-son Susan Lamb and John Coley, Cathie and Jim Hand , Anita Lamb , and Robert and Marjorie Carpenter; several grandchildren and great grandchildren : Johna and Jay'Ell , Johnathan , Alijah, Alonzo, Jaimie , Thomas , Matt and Jade , Nikki , Taylor , Brian , Martin , Lukas and Lily ; three  sisters : Arlene and Jack Tobey , Doreene and Mike Johnson , Mona and Chris Phillip  and Rick and Cheryl Hurd plus several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law , nieces , nephews , great nieces , great nephews , cousins , and many friends. Gayle was a CNA with The Arnot Ogden Medical Center . Her hobbies included sewing , knitting , and playing "Candy Crush" while people watching on her porch. She always helped out everyone in any way she could. A Big Thanks to her best friend Tori Salpsman for always being there.
