Reunion Letter - Patti Gush

Dear Classmates,

What a wonderful weekend we had to celebrate 50 years!  Thank you to all who helped in any way to make it happen and to all who came to celebrate  our amazing class of 1972.  Even if you were unable to make it, so many thoughts were with us.

Special thanks to Mark Bradt who carved and painted a beautiful SHS gnome that he donated; we raffled it and made $356.00 towards our bank account.  Kathy Mayer Jamieson won the adorable gnome.  He also brought a second carving of a Santa that Yvonne Stranger Kent won.  We offered goodie bags to all classmates who attended and Jim Hungerford engraved bottle openers that he donated for every bag.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry O'Dell and Mr. and Mrs. Hulser graciously came to the dinner Saturday night.  Mrs. Hulser even won one of the door prizes!

Friday night at the L was special.  Over 130 classmates and guests came, laughed, reminisced, and made use of the photo booth for a keepsake of our fun evening.  On Saturday afternoon, the lawn of the old Southside high school was filled with classmates ready for their photo op.  We took several pictures; those who had served in the military, Parley Coburn, Broadway and St. Mary graduates and finally a huge class picture.  They are all found on the website.  Saturday night, we were at Lib's for a delicious 3 course meal, lots of reminiscing, music and fun.  Sunday morning, we had quite a few classmates attend St. Mary's church for a mass in honor of our deceased classmates and for our 50th reunion.

Besides Mark and Jim, I would like to thank Gary Caccia, who has created our website, made it easy to navigate and took care of so many little details.  His dedication to our class has been amazing.  Barb Glovins Carine, Debbie Emerson (who also baked all of our cupcakes for Friday night), Gail Richardson Hall, and Yvonne Stranger Kent helped with mailings, decisions and filling the goodie bags.  Many donated to the class to help pay for the website, printing and mailing costs, photo booth, and other miscellaneous expenses; they were:  David Andrews, Norm Bailey, Barb Glovins Carine, Sandy Gordon, Pat Redder Knapp, Margie Philbin Redfield, Sue Pierce Palmer, Wendy Wellman Knott.  Heartfelt thank yous for your generosity, but huge heart thank yous to Denise Bulow Hepfner and Barb Fleming Lord!  They were immensely instrumental in getting this reunion off the ground, running smoothly, and finalizing all the necessary details.  No words can express my gratitude.

I would ask that you keep your information current on the website, this helps tremendously when we need to contact you.  I encourage you to use the site to view pictures, stay in contact with classmates, and know what is happening with the class.  We hope to plan a 70th birthday party in a couple of years.  Stay tuned!

I felt surrounded by so much love and goodness on our weekend and I send it out to all of you,
