ELMIRA – Barbara T. Mosher, 66, of Elmira passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 3, 2020. Born on April 8, 1954, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late James Richard and Marilyn (Wich) Tucker. In 1972, she graduated from Southside High School in Elmira.
On October 26, 1974, she married the love of her life, James R. Mosher at Centenary United Methodist Church in Elmira.
In June of 2020, Barbara retired from the Elmira City School District. Music was Barbara’s passion. For 20 years she served as organist and choir director at Centenary United Methodist Church. Following her time at Centenary she has served as organist, for the last 26 years, at North Presbyterian Church. More than anything, Barbara cherished the time that she shared with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, James R. Mosher of Elmira; her children, Lynn (Jason) Hendershot of Philadelphia, PA, Gary (Nicole) Mosher of Elmira, Brian (Amber) Mosher of Elmira, Kimberly Mosher of Elmira; her grandchildren, Mackenzie Rose, Christopher, Alex, Matt, Jordan, Lynsey, Madison; her brother, Gary Tucker; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may call from 10-12 pm on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at North Presbyterian Church, 921 College Avenue in Elmira. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, in Elmira, will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Barbara’s memory may be made to the North Presbyterian Church Organ Fund or the North Presbyterian Church Food Pantry, 921 College Avenue, Elmira, NY 14901. https://www.northpres.church/ .
