Timothy M. Murphy

1954 - 2019

Pine City - Age 64, passed away on Sun. Jan 27, 2019 very unexpectedly at Arnot-Ogden Medical Center. Born on Mar. 30, 1954 in Elmira; son of the late, Edward G. & Louise M. Amberg. A graduate of Southside High School Class of 72, he went on to receive his Draftsman Degree from C.C.C. Tim married Donna Crosby in 1988. He was employed by Ingersoll Rand as a draftsman before joining N.Y.S. Dept. of Corrections in Southport for 28 years, before retiring. Family times and supporting his children's interests always came first for Tim. He is remembered for his contagious sense of humor and his quotes "Same as a wildcat, 5'10 / 250" and "I can't wait till tomorrow, I get better looking everyday" He loved all sports. Surviving is his loving wife and companion, Donna Crosby Murphy; The "Greatest Dad" to his 6 children, Kayla (Jon) Henrich, Amanda (Bandit) Murphy, Timothy Murphy II; his former wife, Ellen Payne, mother of: Keith (Jaimie) Murphy, Bryce (Nan) Murphy, Meaghan (Josh Wilcox) Murphy; siblings, Sandra Morgan, Kevin (Ali) Murphy, Randy (Susan) Murphy, and Jean Root; nieces, nephews and many family friends. Canine companions, "Jeter" & "Bandit". In addition to his parents, Tim was predeceased by an infant brother, Gary. Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport/Elmira on Thur. Jan. 31, 2019 between the hours of 4-7 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Chemung S.P.C.A. in his memory.
