Thomas Sandore

Sandore, Thomasage 60, of Southport died on his favorite holiday, Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2014. He was born in Elmira on December 30, 1953, the son of the late Richard and Jean (Nolan) Sandore. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 35 years, Patricia (O'Bryan) Sandore; his two children, Jacquelyn Sandore of Southport, and Kevin Sandore of Charlotte, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Michalene Sandore of Syracuse, Mark and Mary Ann Sandore of Elmira, David Sandore of Elmira, with Carol Doland, Daniel and Paige Sandore of Davenport FL; uncle, Joseph (Doris) Sandore of Syracuse; nephews and nieces, Michael, Audrey, Cortney, Taylor, and Adam Sandore; along with many cousins. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Anne M. O'Bryan, brother-in-law, Bill (Pam) O'Bryan, stepmother-in-law, Ellen O'Bryan; many special friends; and pets, Yogi, Gizmo and Misty. Tom was a 1972 graduate of Southside High School and attended Corning Community College. He was a salesman for John G. Ryan, Inc., for 18 years before purchasing the Quick Stop Beverage & Grocery on Broadway in 1997. Before his illness disabled him, he and Patty enjoyed bicycling the "Rails to Trails" in New York and the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, golfing together, and watching their beloved Cleveland Browns and NY Yankees. Tom's laughter, kindness and generosity will never be forgotten. Calling hours will be held at McInerny Funeral Home, 502 West Water Street, Elmira, on Friday, December 5, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tom's Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, December 6, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Elmira. Private interment at Fitzsimmons Cemetery, Southport.Special thanks to the crew at the Quick Stop Beverage for "holding it together," and to the wonderful caring staff at St. Joseph's Hospital.
